The World Opens Out From Its Center Like a Flower

India ink, and oil on panel, about 48" x 48", 1998. Mandala. A blast from my cosmic past. Flower at center spirals out from the Void. Next level out, the Four Elements: earth, air, fire and water. Next level out, the Four Continents: America, upper right. Europe, upper left. Africa, lower right. Asia, lower left. Not exactly right, geographically, but the best I could do. Next level out: the Cosmos. I no longer take myself so seriously as a cosmographer, but I still really like this painting.
